We're 100 Days Smarter!

Hi Everyone!

Monday, February 22nd was officially our 100th day of school! We talked about way back in September when it was our 1st day together and now here we are... 100 days smarter! Lots of learning has been accomplished and Room 6 students have worked like busy bees!

It was time to celebrate learning together for 100 days - so the afternoon was set up for students to travel around to 3 classrooms and participate in stations. Rooms 4 and 10 were also part of the afternoon. The children had booklets to help guide them around. By far, the favorite one was the Snack Station! Food is always a big hit!

Below are a few pictures to showcase some of the learning - sorry, couldn't get everyone because Mrs. Chumola was busy at the "Make a 100 Day" crown station.

We want to say a huge THANK - YOU to our families that donated snacks and craft supplies, especially on short notice. You helped to make the afternoon a success.

A reason to celebrate... 100 days of learning, fun and friendships!

Valentine Fun!

Hi Everyone! Wow, these days are slipping by way too quickly! Last week, children listened to stories related to Valentine's Day, worked on Valentine themed math, and wrote poems and letters about love and caring. They also had fun preparing for our Valentine celebration, then giving out their cards and enjoying delicious snacks that were contributed by parents. Thank you so much!

We hope that you enjoy some pictures taken before and during our celebration.

A fun time was had by all! Until next Valentine's Day...

Play Day Was a Blast!

Global Play Day was enjoyed by everyone! It was wonderful to observe the children interacting in play situations for the entire day! Students loved being able to bring games, toys, dolls and special Lego from home.

I observed children playing alone, with a partner and in groups, at different times. Here are some of the things I noticed as I watched and played with them - cooperation, taking turns, constructing, learning a new game, explaining and teaching of something, lots of language, reading, creating, building, imagination, role playing, organizing of teams, score keeping - and lots of laughter!

A few comments from students:

Violet: Play Day was a blast because people were sharing their toys.

Kael: In the morning we went to play with the Kinders. It was so much fun playing with all of their things!

Loralai: I liked it because everybody was sharing and no one was arguing. I learned how to play Charlotte's game.

Gabe: It was awesome and I hope that we have it next year! Alan's trashy ship was attacking my Power Clics house. It was fun!

Charlotte: My sister came and she played "Apples to Apples" with us.

Frances: It was GREAT!

Audrey: Play Day was fun because Charlotte was sharing her game.

Ben: Dominic and I played Creo mixed with Lego and it was fun!

We hope that you enjoy our video!
